Portal Bar & Eatery
Read Project Information
Tailor Inc. is proud to have successfully designed and delivered two projects for SSP Australia & New Zealand, at Christchurch International Airport. Delivering a high-quality interior in a live airport environment required meticulous planning and coordination, balancing complex engineering requirements with strict airport regulations and security protocols. Strong collaboration with airport management and the client ensured seamless execution while maintaining the highest standards of design and delivery.
Portal Bar & Eatery, draws inspiration from the majestic Southern Alps. Designed to bring people together in a sophisticated yet welcoming setting, the space captures the essence of the South Island’s natural landscapes with a contemporary twist. A carefully curated selection of furniture, materials and finishes reflects the region’s beauty, offering travellers a refined and relaxing retreat within the airport environment.
As part of our service, Tailor Inc.’s Project Managers delivered the project for our client, who is based in Australia. This included overseeing budgets, the contractor, consultants, costs, and programme timelines, with the team travelling between Auckland and Christchurch for the duration of the fitout. Our hands-on approach ensured that every stage of the project was efficiently managed, on schedule, and delivered to the client’s precise requirements.

“Having worked with Tailor Inc. design team for the first time we could not be more pleased for them to successfully deliver two impressive sites (Fern & Co and Portal Bar and Eatery) in Christchurch airport. From the initial brief, the team demonstrated a clear understanding of our vision and brought creative concepts that elevated the space, whilst having a practical approach to the layout and functionality. SSP loved working with the team and look forward to working with them on future projects”
