Direct Capital engaged Tailor Inc to provide workplace advocacy and furniture consultancy for its new corporate headquarters on Shortland Street, Auckland. Working in collaboration with Ministry of Architecture and Interiors and Pure Build as the main contractor, the basebuild architecture was enriched through a carefully considered material palette and refined detailing to create welcoming client meeting spaces, enhance acoustic privacy, and prioritise staff comfort.

At the heart of the workplace is a back-of-house social hub that anchors the floorplan, with workstations positioned to maximise natural light and focused work areas. Meeting rooms are thoughtfully located adjacent to the building core, balancing accessibility with privacy for both clients and staff.

Tailor Inc delivered a turnkey furniture solution, thoughtfully integrating the best of the client's existing furniture with carefully selected new pieces to create a cohesive, functional, and enduring workplace.

This project demonstrates that it's the little details that make the biggest difference. Every decision was driven by creating an environment where client experience and staff wellbeing go hand in hand—from the considered materiality and acoustic performance through to the comfort, functionality, and flexibility of each space.

The result is a refined corporate workplace that is both professional and welcoming, delivering a seamless experience for clients while supporting the people who use it every day.
