Where art and fashion collide

When friends Dan Gosling, Luke Harwood and Marc Moore established their fashion brand Stolen Girlfriends Club, they did so without formal training in fashion, giving them an edge in an industry steeped in trend replication.

Applying their inspired edgy style to the considered fashion norm, the three surfies established their eclectic brand that has expanded into three stores in New Zealand, their latest being in the heart of New Zealand’s capital, Wellington.

“We wanted to set an International Standard for this flagship retail door and believe this has been achieved.”

As Client-Side Project Manager of their latest store, Tailor Inc worked alongside Stolen Girlfriends brand partners Alt Group, architect; Jasmax and Dimension Shopfitters to ensure the finished store exceeded the client’s expectations.

“Taking on the brand’s independent personality and facilitating the unique and bespoke design did have some challenges,” says Tailor Inc’s Project Manager, Elaine Joyce. “However, achieving the extraordinary often releases the exceptional, evidenced in the finished store.”

With many of the finishes wrapped in textured foil sitting in stark contrast to the moody back interior, you would be hard-pressed not to think you were about to enter a rave, but this is the success of Stolen Girlfriends Club; not everything is what it seems.

“This project would not have been executed to the high standard and luxurious finishes without the exemplary project management of Tailor Inc. Elaine was exceptional to work with and we were kept updated across all the moving parts all the way through the project. We wanted an international standard for this flagship door and believe this has been achieved.”
