Case study.

Les Mills – Christchurch

Les Mills, Christchurch was a challenging project but one Tailor are extremely proud of. The four-storey, 3,875 m2, purpose-built city gym was completed on the site of its previously demolished gym at 201-203 Cashel St, Christchurch.

Les Mills’ vision in constructing the gym was to surpass the form, function and quality of gymnasium facilities available anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere.

The building was designed to operate in a high-tech environmentally sustainable manner.  The façade maximises thermal and acoustic performance through the use of state-of-the art cladding , large areas of glazing reduce the need for artificial light, solar preheating is used for water and a fully integrated Building Management System is used to control and manage the building’s energy consumption.  The gym is targeting 40 per cent lower water and energy consumption than existing Les Mills gyms.
